The Nigerian Senate has asked the Federal Government to report South Africa’s Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini, to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Zwelithini is believed to have caused the recent xenophobic attacks in SA after he asked foreigners to pack their bags and go home in a recorded speech.
The Senate made the call on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
The House of Representatives had earlier threatened to frustrate South African interests in Nigeria if attacks against Nigerians and other foreigners were not stopped.
The Zulu king has however denied inciting violence and has urged the attackers to stop harming foreigners.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Consul General in South Africa, Uche Ajulu-Okeke has said that eight Nigerians have indicated interest in returning home following the attacks.
