To ensure better network quality and a reduction in the rate of dropped calls, Airtel Kenya has embarked on a total upgrade of its network infrastructure.
Reports say this is Airtel’s first phase of the upgrade in the Nairobi area.
The upgrade which involved a total overhaul of core transmission equipment, will improve call quality for its subscribers.
According to Techmoran, the telecom company says the second phase of its upgrade will focus on data speed.
The upgrades are in conjunction with Nokia Networks, and as a result of this upgrade, Kenya is now 4G ready.
