The British Council in Nigeria has awarded N7.3 million research grants to four Nigerian lecturers from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and the University of Ibadan (UI).
Four Nigerian lecturers teaching in Nigerian universities have been awarded a N7.3 million research grants by the British Council in Nigeria.
The lecturers are Dr. Anozoeze Madu and Dr. Vincent Chigor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Dr. Rowland Kayode of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and Dr. Temilade Sesan of the University of Ibadan (UI), The Eagle Online reports.
In a statement issued in Lagos by the council’s Communications Manager, Desmond Omovie, it said the award was issued through the Researcher Links travel grants to assist the lecturers undertake various research work.
“The awardees will be supported by established researchers in the UK, with proposed activity, selected on the basis of mutual benefit,” the statement said.
“It would equally be tied to research quality and potential for sustained interaction.”
