A graduate of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, was among a gang of armed robbers nabbed for stealing a Highlander Jeep and other valuables.
The graduate, Christopher, and his accomplices were apprehended by officers attached to the Anti-Crime Patrol, Ebrumede Police Division, at Petroleum Training Institute, PTI Junction, Effurun.
The Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, said the officers were on stop-and-search duty when they made the arrests.
“On questioning the occupants identified as Onoriode ‘m’ , aged 26yrs, Anthony ‘m’, aged 21yrs, Moses ‘m’, aged 25yrs and Christopher ‘m’, aged 25yrs , a graduate of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, they confessed that they broke into a house located at Okuokoko and stole the Jeep and other properties,” Kalu said.
The PPRO said the recovered Highlander Jeep had the registration number, KWL 576 KA.
Other items recovered from the suspects are 11 handsets, three ATM cards, one battle axe, two face masks and two toy guns.
She added that the suspects would be charged to court when investigation is concluded.
